Sofia Garza-Barba is a Mexican genre-bending writer and director with an imaginative point of view, working between Los Angeles and Mexico. 

She has a love for stop motion animation, mixed media art, food, vibrant colors, monsters, dark humor, and magical realism. Her work is highly art-driven, handcrafted, and meticulously planned from concept to screen. 

She has worked with  Grammy-winning bands such as Kinky, Natalia Lafourcade, and Aleks Syntek, alongside clients like Sony Music, Nickelodeon, Universal, Coca-Cola, and Carl's Jr. Her work has been recognized at various festivals.

From Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative, to the Fantastic Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival, Sofia has been selected by different programs tailored to emerging new voices in the film industry, throughout the past few years. Including HBO’s Tomorrow’s filmmakers Today, and LFI Inclusion Fellowship sponsored by NETFLIX.
